QUICK BREAD NEWS
Quick Bread has passed his gate test at last, but seems to be a little tired at the moment. As a result, the trainer has decided to take things easy with 'Quickie' for a while, but with the gate test out of the way, his racing career should be able to start soon. As a Nijinsky cross, I can't wait to see him on the tracks!

On the subject of starting gates, Fairy Robe - who doesn't seem to like the gates at all - should run at Kawasaki this week. If she can make a decent start, expect to see her in the Win-Place-Show frame, as there's no doubt she has the pace. Needless to say, the Yamazaki Stables have been doing a lot of gate training with her since her last outing...
RACING, DRESSAGE, NOW GYMKHANA...
Is there no end to Jaguar's talents? He's won four JRA races, a few Dressage gold medals, and now he's claimed victory in a gymkhana, much to my surprise. Louis got the individual blue ribbon, and teaming up with Megumi and Sophie (who made her competition debut today), got the team prize, too! Tomorrow is when the serious competition begins - Louis with Jaguar in a proper Dressage event. Watch this space.
TENSHINRAMMAN V2
After a three-month dry spell, Tenshinramman won her race today - her first outing at Nakayama, and her first attempt at a track running clockwise. I haven't seen the race as yet, but, in addition to passing the post in first place, the jockey comments are encouraging, and Tanaka-san seems to think she has the potential to go much further. I'll write more once I've seen the race and have a picture to add. But for the  time being, congratulations to fellow owners and all those involved in fashioning the victory...

MORE RACING AT THE WEEKEND
The big news for today is that Tenshinramman will run at the weekend, taking part in the sixth race at Nakayama on the 23rd. Tanaka-san will be in the saddle as usual, hoping to finish at the head of the field in this 1800m turf race for fillies only.

Harmony Fair has her name down for the Anemone Stakes on the 9th March, but we'll have to wait and see if the application comes through or not. Meanwhile, Fairy Robe is provisionally booked for Kawasaki on the 28th of this month. Again, as soon as confirmation has been posted, I'll let you know.

In other news, Mosto Verde seems a little tired so the training is being conducted at a relaxed pace. And a scare regarding the legs of Mistoffelees has turned out to be nothing to worry about, but it's nice to know that the trainer and his staff are so solicitous...

'MISTO' TAKE THREE
Mistoffeless had his third race today, experiencing his third different track in the process. You may recall that having finished second in his debut outing, the next race was a disaster (13th). After holding second place for a while this time out, he slipped back to finish fourth (35.3 for the last three furlongs was definitely off the pace), but at least he's shown he has some of the ability expected of his bloodlines, and as his running characteristics are becoming better understood, future races should see some decent results coming through...

PS. Having seen a new video, he was actually leading for a little bit, but the winner's finish was outstanding. Third was definitely on the cards otherwise.
