Lillyput came in at the back of the field at Wolverhampton, but with this being a debut outing after a very long time out of action, we couldn't really expect much more than a practice run. Hopefully, if all is well on her return to the stable, we can see the real Lillyput in action from now on. It will be fun following her progress.
Larressingle started as favourite at Nakayama, but blew the gate completely and finished a rather disappointing sixth. There was only 0.3 seconds between the first eight horses, so the finish was basically a lottery - who blocked who... But the disappointment remains, as this is a horse that can really move, and because of the crazy way JRA works, there are too few chances to throw away. The fact is that a potential win has been tossed away, and without a win against it's record as yet, the danger is we will lose one of the best horses we have (trained by an all-too rare good guy, too), keeping duds that are either has-beens or lucky instead.
